Morgan Young will be participating in the WQED World of Work Marketplace
WQED Education and The Canon-McMillian School District are hosting a special career day on March 28th 2025, where students ages 5-10 will have the opportunity to speak with members of the local community to learn about different careers.
American Dreamers is excited to announce that Morgan has been invited to this event to speak about her experience in the construction industry.
“It has become my passion to educate and inspire children about building and construction when they are young. I want them to know that it’s a viable and rewarding career. The world needs builders! Everything you see when you look around – it started with an idea that someone had, and then someone built it. I’m really looking forward to hearing the kids’ ideas and thoughts about building,” commented Morgan on the upcoming event.
Morgan’s own journey into the construction industry was not a direct, linear path. As a young child, she always loved to build things and would ask for real tools for Christmas. She went to college for Communications and was successful in an IT job, but she couldn’t let go of that dream she had to build things. She writes about her story in a new children’s book called Morgan Wants to Build. She always hopes to encourage children to believe in themselves as they discover their own unique skills and talents. You can read more about the book and purchase it here.
The World of Work Marketplace event will take place at the Frank Sarris Library in Canonsburg and will feature many tables with hands-on displays by local participants providing insightful information about the work they do. If you’re a student in the Canon-Mac school district, we look forward to seeing you there!
